June wrote a lot, so I'm going to make mine quick...

Thinking about making a forum, anyone have any suggestions? I doubt most people would join at this point, and that's cool, I just feel that some of these gigantic author's notes that I do would be better served in a forum environment.

And I wanted to say hey to 2g, who is thinking about quitting... He makes a sprite comic called 2g, which is linked in our Links section... So I guess if he does decide to quit, this is my vigil for him. It's been a good couple months bud, all the best with your future, whichever route you take... Heh.. route... for a pokemon comic creator..

Skrael (I'm the artist)
I have been trying with each comic that I draw to achieve more of the idea that I have formed in my head. In the beginning, it never came out how I wanted it to. Looking back, the drawings seem so twisted and wrong. I think I'm getting closer to the look that I want. I'm not quite there, I still have a heck of a lot of work to do on the anatomy and everything. That being said, the faces and hands I must say myself, have come a long way. Look back at the first 5-10 comics, and I think that you will agree with me.

I may be playing with my colour pallettes at some point. My backgrounds seem too saturated, and they seem to be blending in with the colours of my characters. I think if I tone down the colours in the background, my characters should definitely be the focus of the scene. How do you feel about me doing this? Will it effect things for you, or would you even notice or care? I certainly don't want to make reading this comic an unpleasurable experience.

No cameos in this one. I think for the most part we're going to cut back a bit on that.I had a BLAST integrarting them, don't get me
wrong, but we want them to stay as a special thing. It's like eating too much cake. Eventually the "YAY OMFG CAKE!" factor goes away and you're like "Frig, cake again?! This is getting old... "

PS: The brain is a lie. (James gets it)

@Magravan: Forum you say?
Well, I have some suggestions...
Do not use freeforums.org for your forum (if you decide to make one). That said, in my experience, it's best if you host your own.
I have a phpBB board set up on my website, and I can't think of any set-up that would be better (yet still free).
Trust me. I have experience here.

@Skrael: I think you should go ahead and try it. Experimenting with artwork is always fun.
(I have all of my colouring set to 50%, causing extreme desaturation not recommended for normal circumstances.)

@Ksilmot - Thanks bud :) Glad you're still around!

@MarshmallowGherkin - Well, if we get our own webspace, we'll probably want to move the hosting of the comic to that page too... Which does create a hosting expense ;D

@Barra - Glad you liked it :D

Well, I just use a free webhost.
My web operating costs are steady at $0.00.

One of these days I'll pay for domain name/hosting, but not yet.

I'm not sure what other options there are other than freeforums.org and self-hosting.
All I know is I advise against using freeforums.

Who do you get your hosting through?

I'm currently using x10hosting.com, which is pretty good for a free host (nxserve was better, but it shut down). And I use co.cc for my domain name.
Information here, though that's a bit out of date. The inactivity limit is now set to 31 days, and they've done some upgrades.

You might find the "Power Search" option on free-webhosts.com to be helpful in finding a site suited to your needs if you're interested.

Cool, I'll check that out :D Any chance that your forum is easily migratable if we do decide to make a TOGM bonanza site at some point?

Beth is such a sassy-pants in that last panel! Sexiest. Zombie. EVER! =D And I just love the way her unreasonable reasonableness is just driving John up the wall! XD

As for the backgrounds, I find nothing wrong with them personally. I actually find them a pleasure to look at. For me they give me something more to look at once I'm done with the characters and the text. If you feel the need to relegate your backgrounds to the background then by all means go ahead, but I think they're fine the way they are.

Ha, I love Beth's pose in the last panel. John's face shows his frustration very well.

If you start a forum, I'd sign up :)

I kinda miss the togm forums. I was one of the main people signing up, I was one of the most active posters, and most of my comments for the comic were there. :/
