Hello!!

Some great news! We got an offer accepted, and the process for the house is starting out... We're doing the home inspection on Tuesday, so I should be able to say how things are going on Thursday's update.

On another positive note, Jeph Jacques of Questionable Content fame is coming to Toronto's Toronto Comic Arts Festival, and I'm planning on going to check it out! I'm really excited about the possibility of visiting this, hoping that June will come with, and all that fun stuff! On the off chance that any of our readers are also planning on attending, maybe we can make plans to meet up and say hello!

We had a decent size influx of people from Reddit, not a bad number for a non-update weekend (not sure what the heck I was thinking.. I should have waited until the weekday...), but hopefully some of the people who dropped in to see think that it's worth sticking around to check out in the future. That's one problem with certain sites like that, a LOT of hits, but little retention... But one can hope :)

Please bear with us while we fiddle with things... I'm still not sure if the text stuff is working.. Basically rather than putting the stuff onto an image that's already been resized to the current form, I am working with June's 5000x1 bazillion pixel files, and so I have to guess a little bit more as to what the final thing will look like... Opinions? If this looks okay, I can change my design document to have the new font sizes and stop worrying about it... Mainly the Beth / John text. R.Z. is obviously using his outdoor voice.

Speaking of which, I see this comic as hitting more with parents than those who don't have them. Or maybe it's just our family, who knows?

Catch you on Thursday!

Admitedly, I had a lot of fun drawing this one. John's face lends itself well to creating funny and interesting expressions in my opinion.

As James mentioned, we've pretty much bought a house now. I'm pretty excited, I think it's a lot nicer than the one we're renting for pretty much the same price, once you factor in extra bills and property taxes. If all goes well, we'll be moving at the end of June. It will be a highly anticipated event, I don't doubt that I will spend the next four months anxiously awaiting. Well, at least there is packing to keep me occupied. And of course, all of the commissions that have come to me recently. (wtf!)

In sadder news, I just wanted to put a shout out to my mom. I know she'll never see this, but her health is not well, and I wanted to express my concerns. If you all could keep her in your thoughts, I would really appreciate it. I don't really believe in a higher power or anything, but I am coming to believe in the power of positive thinking. Every little bit helps, right?

James forgot to mention: We are having R.Z. wearing a Goodbye Kitty Shirt! This is a nod to the awesomely funny comic artist, Al Parrott of Goodbye Kitty! Please make sure to check out his comic, it is epically hilarious!

I found panel four to be very entertaining. :)

How he can swing that arm without it flying off is not something I will pretend to know. :S

They must have a nice ComicFury assortment in their closet. All those great comic-clothes...
Whoopee on the house. Literally whoopee.

They are being made on demand ;) Beth knitted the RPGeneric sweater, R.Z. is majoring in art ;)

@Barra - Thanks bud, appreciate it!

@Alparrott - Woohoo! :) Sorry I forgot to put it in the initial commentary, I blame tiredness :D We wanted to do a GBK cameo a while ago, but we didn't have the shirt space, and I really wanted it to go on R.Z. rather than someone else, just because my son really enjoys your comic ;) Also, loving the new arc that this week of Kitty is taking already and it's only day 1 :D

congrats on the house.. hope it all works out for you.

I like Beth.. she has that "why do I have to be responsible for BOTH these children" vibe going for her.

Beth is definitely my favourite character so far .. and John is most definitely still like a kid. Don't forget, he's brand new, and can't really remember anything before being dumped from the truck!

Poor guy lacks the experience to see some of Beth's pitfalls.. He's like one of those really, really smart but socially awkward guys... We just haven't seen much of his odd sense of smarts yet...

Yay! Someone noticed :) I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on that ;) It's intentional ;)

I wonder why we could see the green stuff on the brochures, and on the real-life One, but not on the kid?

The Green Stuff is something that only John can see. Usually it only happens when we are showing from his perspective... Which means that in a later strip, where you see green stuff, it was a hint that John was nearby.
