A part of me feels pretty terrible for the completely one dimensional character of Sarah. I would have liked to give her more screen time, and flesh her out more, but I didn't have the pages to work with. June's already giving me hell for having crammed too much into these pages (which is why this one is gigantic and will be split into two if this goes to print).

So... Another victim of the zombie plague. John seems like he was pretty forceful in removing her from his lap. I was thinking more of a startled, reaction type thing, but I'm not sure if that comes through.

Anyway, I guess I better upload this. I hope you guys have a great week! (I'm going on a school trip with my son.. Waterpark! Woooo!)

And give you hell she should (thump him one, Skrael). All teasing aside, wishing you the best on this.

Sorry, haven't been around much and didn't know you'd started this.

It's not exactly easy to get people's attention, I've found. Posted it on the Facebook, had a thread on CF that I updated once an update (though, I think I've stopped for the most part).

Ahhh well. If anyone ever decides they want to check the story out again, they get a pleasant surprise. If not, well, that's easy enough too.

Wow.
I had wrong I thought they were already ACTIVE
She had a pint about John picking her Beth even said so.
Breaking free who says one's can't feel jealousy!!!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Nope, definitely not 'active'. John shut her down previously when she tried to get him to take a break with her before.

I knew they couldn't be going at it already. There were no preliminary signs in the comic thus far.
I feel sad for Sarah, though.
Moral of this story: Never seduce the boyfriend of a zombie girl right in front of her nose.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
That's a good moral. I can't imagine it would ever come up again, but it definitely works.

I was having trouble following the arrows, mainly because I didn't want to stop looking at the second panel! :)

Poor Sarah, guess they will have to thaw out another one... ;)
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
There are no more Sarahs! :( She was the only one!

Get some DNA quick, and you could potentially clone more.

For that matter, if they ever get the cloning chambers up and running, it will be time to do some grave digging, for DNA samples.

Ewwwwwww!

Oh, and I wonder will she be dead, or a Zombie now? In this storyline, it makes a bigger difference than in most zombie stories, due to the potential of her becoming a more intelligent (2,3,or 4)Zombie some day.

Were the arrows really freaking necessary? Am I that horrible at this?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I felt they were.

They helped.
Since I'm used to manga, I kind of know the flow of panels by now. I might've switched one or two panels but they don't really mess with the sequence, to be honest.

... I... beth noms brains! Beth becomes hot again! Woooooo!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Mmmm, not so much. She'll get a brief period of lucidity again. I doubt that'll be used on a beauty regiment :)
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
The magic of love will make her become hot. Obviously. Don't you people have disney movies. But seriously, perhaps she will gain temporary 6hood and solve it. Yaaaaaay
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
The magic of love is pretty magical.
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
Yes it is. So... sarah is pretty tasty XD
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Beth sure thinks so... waiiit. o.O

Youch! Sorry Sarah, John's heart belongs to Beth, even though she'd just want his brain right now.
She should get some fresh grey meat out of this, at least, unless John wants another one to deal with!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I mean, there are certainly better ways to be rejected, but kudos to Sarah for putting herself and her feelings out there. Even for a clone with literally the last non-frozen/zombified guy in the world, it's not easy to do!
T. Gatto (Guest) edit delete reply
The arrows are fine, I was just complimenting the [catcall] artwork! :)
Magravan edit delete reply

She was upset I put arrows in at all :)

Problem #3
TOGM Supply.

Beth and RZ eat 90 pounds of TOGM in a month. On average Beth eats 2X as much TOGM as RZ does. Assuming an average of 30 days per month, how much TOGM does RZ eat, on average, per day?
PhilC edit delete reply
PhilC
I'll go with a pound.
And I too am a fan of lingerie-clad, pre-zombie-bite Sarah!
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
1lb/day
[90lb/3 = 30lb/30days = 1lb/1day]

Although RZ eats *far* more TOGM than Beth in canon.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Yes, these questions fail to take into account RZs capacity for eating.
Annoyingstoryproblemguy (Guest) edit delete reply
YUP!*

* The opinions and situations stated in the Story Problems do not necessarily reflect TOGM Cannon, or anything else for that matter.

I'm sure with the word balloons positioned differently the arrows wouldn't have been necessary.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
The word balloons were positioned in the empty space as much as possible. I'm not going to cover over art with them.

I would be interested in seeing what you mean, however.
Peter Palmiotti edit delete reply
Peter Palmiotti
In the case of panel two, by sliding the art to the right side of the panel the word balloons would then fit along the left of the panel.
By separating her dialog into two different word balloons using the 2nd much like you the 2nd arrow to lead into panel 3 is an example.. I am more then willing to go over it at length if I can be of help.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Ahhhh, I agree with you about moving Beth to the right on panel 2, but it wasn't feasible at the time that I did the bubbles / lettering.

We did discuss it, and I think that we are more on the same page for this stuff..

It's funny how much trouble this epilogue is giving us. When we were updating twice a week, we had a system down and it was very rarely a problem. Now, it seems like everything is conspiring to frustrate one or both of us.

I'm really looking forward to moving on to Fuss and Shush :)

I think he means that they can cross panels to avoid use of arrows, like you did with the rant and Beth breaking loose.
If you've put the originating line of the speech bubble through the first panel wall, it wouldn't require arrows.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
The first one was probably the least necessary.

I called it. Kept her around, and now that she is ripe, feed the girlfriend! ;)

Now will Beth be smarter for a while, and have to go through the descent into madness again?

Also was she deliberately attacking Sarah? She seemed pretty angry! Perhaps she kept enough of herself to be jealous? Possibly she still retains some of herself due to the tumor she might still have in her head?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
He certainly didn't do it on purpose!

She was deliberately attacking Sarah, but I will leave it to you to wonder if it was Starving One Syndrome or jealous rage ;)
T.Gatto edit delete reply

The first time is always the hardest.

Within a couple of months he will be backing up a dumptruck full of screaming clones for the masses to eat... ;)

OK Maybe not, but at some point he will have to make some hard decisions and, in the end, I predict that RZ will save the day!!! :)
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
You predict RZ will save the day, huh? I think it'll be entertaining to see what you think after the final strip ;)
Jedia Kyrol (Guest) edit delete reply
She kind of has a point though...instead of finding a cure...he could just make a new humanity with the cloning equipment.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
She kind of does... I'm guessing that if I had done this as a full chapter, it would have been even more poignant as we saw more of their relationship build and the depth of their failures...

But in the end, John wants to save his friends. And that's where the difference between this story and most stories lies...

He has the choice, and he sides with the 'monsters'.
JediaKyrol (Guest) edit delete reply
well...there is that saying..."Better the monster you know..."
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Especially when said monster is adorable :)
