It's later than we intended, June wasn't feeling well for a portion of the time alloted to comic making.

Hope everyone had a great two weeks, and I look forward to hearing what you guys think. I may post a longer author's note later, but I wanted to get it up asap.

Have a great week!

Edit: Epilogue is currently sitting at 14 pages with the extra pages June requested (this being one of them), and splitting a page into 3 to give it more space..

So this is halfway!

This epilogue is breaking my heart.

I can't promise the ending won't be emotional, but I -can- promise you he won't become a lumberjack...

... Barring June messing with things >.>

This breaks my. Heart seeing Beth change.
Hate that female clone.
Although would properly feel sorry if I knew her bit better. After all,she has no family John's her only companion and he loves someone else.... No though I'm on Beth side
Seriously though it's obvious John's clutching at straws the others are gone and he can't accept it.
EVen if he made TOGM that's only brain substitute, it doesn't make them smarter
So,sad

One of my regrets about the Epilogue is that the whole Sarah relationship is very, very quick and shallow. A lot of it is off-screen, and subtext... It's going to make the next page less impactful than it would have been over a long build up.

I don't get why this one is called "Why do good Sixes go bad?". From what I recall there were no Sixes, and Robert was the only Five. Or did I forget something?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
It's been hinted that Thomas rebelled because Robert achieved "True Enlightenment".

True Enlightenment is Sixhood.

This just serves to point out that being a Six is a bad thing for them, because something else seems to take over, and they become someone else.

Robert was briefly a Six.
As for trying to save them, why wouldn't he? It's not like he can repopulate the earth with just Sarah.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I'm not sure that Sarah would agree with you ;)
Muchacho NL edit delete reply
Muchacho NL
Well, basically it would wind up with the two of them forcing their kids to incestuous activities for the population.

I think they would be better off tampering with the DNA strands and create a bunch of different clones.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Technically that would still be repopulating the earth with Sarah... They'd be working together, messing with the DNA ... :)
Muchacho NL edit delete reply
Muchacho NL
True, but not in the biblical sense of 'together' ;)
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
If we are going by the biblical sense of 'together', that would make the 2 people starting the human race and all the incest to follow acceptable, wouldn't it? :P

So either way, it works!
Muchacho NL edit delete reply
Muchacho NL
Yeah, true... after all: the earth was populated by Adam and Eve, and again Re-populated by Noah with his wife and his eldest son with his girlfriend.

OK so she's pregnant-- More importantly, it hurts my feelings that I've been following this comic for years and I still don't understand JACK. Or half jack.

Just get it over with and stick that dagger in my heart of having Beth and John be separated after all this so I can go download some Linkinpark or some other emo thing. Spoilers: Tears.

Now I feel a little bit horrible for what's coming next ;)

Prefer John clean shaving
He looks lot older with beard. Like a mad scientist which he kind of is becoming so maybe it works?
Although he's really more eccentric than mad
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Well, he is getting older.. :)

OK, just thinking like an Evil Scientist here.

Clone brains probably do not contain a great deal of "brain upping power" unless they become experienced in the real world (like the lab assistant). That is just my guess, but it seems logical to me. Then they would probably be just like everyone else (in terms of making zombies smarter).

What if john makes TOGM, keeps samples of all the clones DNA, as well as the cloning chambers.

Then he releases the clones one by one and hangs out with them till they "ripen", then kills them off and feeds Beth and his friends.

Maybe then they will become smart enough to figure out how to make more clones, and even better TOGM, or possibly a cure.

Then everyone can eat clone brains (and uber TOGM) and John can re-define evil bastard, and make Robert look like a saint...

Magravan
Hangs out with them until they ripen.. Man, that sounds diabolical.
T.Gatto edit delete reply

Ok, I don't really advocate the evil scientist thing, but it seems like he is in for a serious moral dilemma no matter what he does.

He is already killing innocent clones (talk about turning on your own kind), making himself no better than an Enlightened Zombie who kills innocent people.

I think at some point he is going to have to make a decision to do something horrible, as the lesser of evils option seems to be all that is left...

This is where RZ, or even Chekov, would be useful, as they can see the wrong and right, and not get hooked up in grey areas, like an intelligent adult would inevitably fall into.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Not to mention that RZ makes everything better :)

I don't think that June'll let me bust out Chekhov again. She wasn't pleased with him being the one to kill Robert :)

Last Comment for a while.

I could see John turn on his friends and allies for a greater good, if he was cornered to do so.

He could possibly even turn on Beth out of absolute necessity (and only that)though he would never forgive himself.

I think he will NEVER turn on RZ, EVER, even if it means complete failure.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Hahaha, I like that you have a sense of where he'd draw the line... That makes me feel that the character is believable.

Yeah, I'm not much of a Twitter user... I don't know tend to use it much beyond doing comic updates, and even that is only when I remember..

PROBLEM#2
RZ’s Arms.

RZ keeps losing his arms; Beth is getting tired of getting them for him, and decides to take a pair home for safe keeping.

Beth's bin of short 4 fingered arms currently contains ten left arms and 10 right arms.

RZ cannot tell right from left, and can only carry 1 arm at a time (because he currently only has 1 arm, and also he cannot be trusted with more than 1 of anything at a time).

If Beth repeatedly sends RZ to the bin to get an arm, how many trips will he have to make, to the arm bin, in order to guarantee that he will have at least one matching pair (not counting the one already attached to him)?

No asking John for help, and explain your answer please.
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
Eleven. (One more than the max number of identical arms.)

YUP! I'll try to make each successive problem harder.

wow this is getting super depressing. I hope that it gets less depressing soon...

Uhm... I can't promise the next page will be less depressing :) I guess it depends on your personal opinion...

Just realised: why is Sarah's labcoat always open, whereas John's is always (correctly) done-up?
asheswillfall (Guest) edit delete reply
I would say, because boobs, that's why.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I think that it is being used to show passage of time, for one. But yeah, probably mostly for boobs.

John's outfit is only being done properly because June wanted to base it off a very specific outfit.
