This page... this page... If I wasn't already getting grey hairs, this one would have done it for me. Uuuuugh.

Turns out that June's newer version of Photoshop makes things wonky, so we ended up spending the better part of an hour trying to get the background image to not look all pixel-y and stuff. Even now, I'm just hoping that it doesn't look terrible.

And we also had an issue where the text meant for panel 3 was a huge text well, and I got a tiny bit of the top half of a split panel to work with... So hopefully we will block out enough space for the text walls in the future.

So anyway, that's that. Another update down, hopefully next week's is a little smoother.

Have a great week, take care!

Huh. The last panel's transparent bubbles looked a lot more obvious in the editing process. I meant it to indicate that he was talking under his breath.

Don't worry about the background in this one, its an office, they never look great anyway.

I don't remember if it was addressed or not, but did all the clones of Thomas get destroyed as well?

Ahhh, by background image I meant all of it.. :) I work in 3 layers while lettering: the text layer, the bubble layer and the background layer. The entire image looked tiny when I imported it, and when I blew it up, it looked horribly pixelated.

As for Thomas Clones, it hasn't been addressed, but they are fine.

Nice to see you back. I'm patiently waiting for what comes next, because I can't really follow John's train of thoughts at the moment.

Is it the text walls? :D

I blame Monster Soup. I think she's got all of our impending doom meters up to 11.

No, not the text walls... I just can't follow his thoughts of imprisoning Twos and VR'ing (if that's even a word) Ones... the Threes will most likely be the biggest problem when they revert to Two's... which I don't get either... is the TOGM actually contributing to computing power?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
As soon as they revert to Twos, they'll start getting the One/Two voice, and then they'll get corraled. When they start exclusively saying Brains!, they get put into the VR machine. This way, they maximize their freedom, while being made safe the moment that they are a threat... And gradually thinning the numbers of degenerating zombies running loose.

And TOGM is allowing them to maintain their level. If they go without, they become functionally lesser tiered until they get TOGM again... Without a new means of producing it, they are going to deteriorate until they are all functionally Ones.

So the "Green Stuff" needs whatever is in the TOGM to keep up, interesting.

Still, cloning complete humans is a lot more complex than just cloning brains, right? So why not just clone brains and let those be eaten?

Their ability to clone things is limited as well at this point... But you're right, that is an option that I should have had them try, I just didn't think of it.

Ooh nice to see this coming to closure. I honestly think that if you just shrunk the muttering-under-his-breath dialogue a bit more it'd do the trick conveying what you want it to. Maybe lighten the font color if you still have the working file with layers saved.

In the program, it totally looked like a transparent bubble, so it 'worked' for me... If I had known it was going to turn out like this, I would have lessened the text size and all. The one reason I tend to avoid messing with that is simply that I don't know what it's going to look like on the final page until 2 - 3 steps after I've completed the lettering / bubble stages. So if it is too small, and then I shrink it as part of the entire page being shrunk, it'll be unreadable.

I can't wait to see your comic! If you start before we finish here, you should drop a link so everyone can check it out.

@Everyone else - Hazard is a great artist, and is going to have something spectacular when she finally starts putting out pages... Definitely someone to watch out for. It will be here! I forgot I already subscribed to it :D

It's a good thing this is a Zombie Story, nothing EVER goes disastrously wrong in a Zombie Story, RIGHT?

Actually it is a pretty good plan, all things considered.

Interesting how John said "we're all going to devolve into ones", he shouldn't worry about that much, as he will be lunch long before then... :)

Haha, that's why he's getting rid of them all! And having them do it for him! He's the evil mastermind unnamed city needs and deserves.

Holy crap. I totally never realized togm city doesn't have a name...

Mainly because for the people living in it, there was only Town and the Wastes. There weren't other cities, other countries or anything of the sort.

When you're the only one, you don't really need to differentiate yourself.

If the comic had been written from Robert's perspective, we probably would have gotten a lot more of that sort of thing, because he did have to deal with the various colonies.
