Well, this is it... I hope you enjoyed the read.

I will be posting FanArt until we run out from tomorrow on. So far I have 1 thing to put up. If I run out, no more will be posted on here. I hope that you guys will check out their comics (if it isn't inappropriate for your reading preferences).

I posted a long comment elsewhere, on Facebook which I don't know if you can read if you aren't on Facebook / Liked us. So if not, and you want to, lemme know.

Alternate Location

Lastly, I hope you guys check out ComicFury. They have a lot of great comics on there, and the community is awesome if you decide you want to start something up yourself.

Thank you for reading, have a great forever :)

Edit: Oh, in case it wasn't clear, RZ's new font is intentional. I added his previous comment just to make sure that people didn't forget he used to talk in the other one.

Confused? Check the Q&A here

Great work. Congrats on managing to finish it :)
I'd really like to know all the details behind this green stuff, especially on this page. I've been wondering about it since it was first shown.

but what was green stuff

D:

also how long do I have to send you that fanart because I need to finish it

RZ LEVELED UP
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Frosty - That was meant to be a major part of the next portion... We'll see how things go, but it will be explained in some fashion in time.

@MatthewJA - :O That's the question you're supposed to be asking ;)

I have one thing of fanart, so if I get something by this time in 2 days, then it'll go up, otherwise, I might put everything up on the facebook page, but less exposure for people :)

So long as I have something to put up, the deadline will be extended :)

Also, thank you for noticing that RZ levelled up.. I wasn't sure if it would be clear what happened there.

I don't want to get sappy, so I'll just say that: Your comic is very high on the list of things, in my Library, that I hope to pass on to my kids some day.

P.S. I just sent you some fan art.

Is it to do with TOGM? Because we know that Robert was trying to make better TOGM and such... and why his brain was filled with it, considering that TOGM stops them from being obsessed with finding brains.

You're RZ has leveled up. RZ learns Hyper Beam.

Well thanks for the read. I do wish you were going to keep on with it since there are still many questions let unanswered that I would like to know (such as the green stuff). Also if you could post that long comment I would appreciate it since I refuse to use facebook =p. I will keep the Togm shirt fondly.

Updated the link with a new location. Sorry if it hurts the eyes, I couldn't find anything less eye-hurty.
Sara (Guest) edit delete reply
Are you going to explain what the green stuff is, and why RZ leveled up?
Fortunado1972 (Guest) edit delete reply
Hmmmm Methinks I see a "trickle down" effect. Since Robert is no longer active his intelligence ran down the line boosting RZ (and I am assuming many other 1's and 2's). So many questions....

Great story guys I'll miss reading you..
Beadle (Guest) edit delete reply
*sniff*

That is all.
Darr (Guest) edit delete reply
It only seems natural that he was the master zombie. It was his fault for creating them, so the green stuff in his head made himself the physic controller of them all.
Pashakitty (Guest) edit delete reply
Um... I'm completely lost? Did the kid just get smarter because the big guy died? Is John the character we've been following all along or just a clone of him?

I feel like there was a lot missing from this story that would normally help to fill in the blanks. Because, yeah... so not getting it.
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
So how did R.Z. level up, why is he addressing Beth as Mom, and how will the world now survive with no Robert?
Guest (Guest) edit delete reply
Oh man. D': I can't believe it's over... Congrats! You guys did such a great job, and you should be so proud of what you've accomplished~!

You both better stick around and keep in touch with us Furians, though. D:< *shakes fist*

I'm working on fanart right awaaaaay!

@T.Gatto - That's ... one of the best compliments we've ever received. :O

@MatthewJA - Sort of, but not in the way you're thinking.

@neon5162 - Yes,everything post 300 was RZ just destroying everything with his newfound powers :D

@Balthasar - I may do a question and answer period, if nothing else works out.

@Sara - I will explain in some fashion at some point. However, if I do explain it, it means that the rest of the story isn't being written. So I'm holding off on explanations until we're certain.

@Fortunado1972 - You're very close to the right idea :)

@Beadle - That is enough ;)

@Darr - Some of them didn't seem very controlled to me ;)

@Pashakitty - John started the comic, he was a clone of Thomas, who made a brief appearance just before the end of Book 2. Thomas was killed by a One, became a One himself, and eventually ended up decapitated in Robert's lab. John is the only human character left in the story, barring Robert's unreleased clones.

@aok666 - He levelled up because Robert died. He is addressing Beth as Mom because throughout the comic he referred to her as Beth, and this was a way for everyone to realize that he had levelled up.

And the world of 301+ was going to become a very bleak place. ;)

@Guest - Thank you! And yes, I intend to keep in touch :) CF has been an important part of my life for 3 years, I'm not going to disappear :)

You picked a great "ending" for the strip! I did not expect that at all, although in some ways it was satisfying, would've been more so if it were Chad. I have a feeling he'd want to take over being in charge. Knowing what we do about their lives pre-zombie, I can understand why Chad cheated (though he's still a jerk!)
Refugnic Eternium (Guest) edit delete reply
Well, I'd like to thank you. Thank you for the fun read. It's been a real blast. But you've left a lot of questions open...on purpose, without a doubt.

Now, allow me to ask, will there be any more? You know, stuff that will explain, how the 'Enlightenment' (which is without much of a doubt, the green stuff only John can see) works? How Robert even TURNED himself into a Zombie? And what exactly John really is? Or why the little RZ has 'levelled up' all of a sudden...because Robert is now dead, all his Enlightenment is passed down to his subjects, or something?

Or could it be...even though I doubt that's even possible...that Robert's death 'broke' the Zombie curse, and all those under his 'spell' will now revert to regular humans...with regular brains?

So many questions, so little information.
I've read you won't be posting any more on here...but if you were to try and answer some of these questions...where would you do that?

Best regards: Refugnic Eternium.

So, basically this is the end of TOGM?
Thank you at least for the very interesting and entertaining read.

And if I may say so (Of course you will probably not acknowledge nor deny my thesis): I think RZ didn't level up... he just de-zombified.
Ras (Guest) edit delete reply
Well done the both of you :)

Thank you for 300 great updates. I will say once more that this webcomic is one of the best I have ever read. I will miss the story and I will miss the art. Most of all I will miss how both of you took the time to discuss each comic with us.

...aaaand if you two change your mind I ll be here to go on reading. :)
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Kristy - Ahaha :) That makes your comment even better :)

@the_brigand - YES! YESSSS! Thank you for noticing :D I was wondering if anyone would get that... I subverted it initially, to make people think that he was going to have something to do with Beth's escape, but I always intended for him to be important...

@Unka John - Yaaay! I hope everything is going well for you.. You are missed!

@asheswillfall - And that's what I was going for... Understandable why he might do it, but still kind of a dick :)

Chad still had a part to play, and I wanted the implication with regards to him to dawn on the reader as they recognized what this meant...

@Refugnic Eternium - I'm trying to figure out which would be the best way to not answer anything specifically at this time, but to provide the answers once I'm sure we're committed to stopping...

I thought the Facebook page would be the easiest, but I know that some people don't have / want Facebook. Same with Twitter (I know that I only really use it on special occasions..)

So ... I don't know? Thoughts? What would be the best way to contact people and let them know that we're just going to answer the questions?

I will say, without a doubt, they are not regular humans. RZ's moment was meant to show him becoming a Three. He absolutely levelled up, and it was because of Robert's death.

@Muchacho NL - I'm pretty sure it is the end of TOGM, yes. Some fanart going up for the next little while, but there will be no more in canon strips, so far as I know as of today.

I am denying your thesis :) RZ levelled up :)

@Ras - Thanks so much for reading! Interacting with the readers has been one of the best parts of the comic, and I'm glad that we had the opportunity.

You know, in retrospect, I should have showed Thomas having become a Two as well. That would have cemented the idea that they levelled up after Robert's death.

Ahhh well, live and learn :D
Refugnic Eternium (Guest) edit delete reply
I for one have neither Facebook nor Twitter. I suggest doing it the same way you communicated with the community up to now. On this site. In the form of updates. Even if it's just a block of text, people who keep checking (like me) WILL notice eventually. At least that's what I think.
Marlox (Guest) edit delete reply
So wait, eeeveryone leveled up? So is Sylene is now a four? How exponential was this jump from four to six to pass down that much enlightenment? Was Robert even a legitimate 5, or was he really something else? I PROPOSE SAID QUESTIONS TO YOU, SIR.

Wait a minute... I think I'm just cluing in to something... so then, what you're saying is that what Beth wanted most *sniff* throughout this whole story *sniff, sniff* was just to get her baby back to the boy who knew her and loved her too. *heart breaks* That's so sad! *bawl* I'm so glad you gave it a happy ending! I'm really gonna miss this story. Please keep me in the loop on whatever plans you make to take the story further. Also, June, your art has really brought this story alive and I love it! I admire your talent, your discipline and your commitment. 3 years! Wow! How incredibly huge a thing that is to me, you'll never know. This is an accomplishment of which I hope you'll both be proud, always.

wow. that was an amazing ending. great writing james! i hope you come back to it. TOGM is one of the best webcomic i've ever read, and i hope some day for there to be more. i don't know what else to say. just... thanks for sharing your little peice of the internet with us.

I did not see any of this coming at all. <3 ;~;
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
But why has Robert's death caused everybody else to level up?
Acidsplash (Guest) edit delete reply
Came by after following from little gamers and just spent 3 hours catching up from the beginning, very much hooked. Will continue reading and promoting, keep up the good work. X
Magravan edit delete reply

@Refugnic Eternium - That's fair, I will post it here as well. I just was thinking that if it were a few months from now, people probably wouldn't be checking often / at all...

@Marlox - Well, they all increased in Enlightenment. Sylene was too far from becoming a Four... All Ones are now twos, those close to the next stage will have levelled up...

Robert was the Five, by their standards.

@PixieSingsBass - That was a significant portion of Beth's story, yes. This ending is happy in one sense, and is very much like Into The Woods before the intermission. Everything seems like it ended well, and a lot of the wrongs were addressed...

However, once the curtain lifts again, you realize that they really didn't figure out how to make TOGM...

@model S - Thank you! You've been very supportive, and it has been appreciated. Thanks for reading.

@Violet Black - Hopefully it wasn't too unbelievable :)

@aok666 - Mmmmmm, not answering that one just yet. I will say that a loooong time ago, with far less information, one reader basically nailed it pretty much perfectly... So it is possible to figure out ;)
asheswillfall (Guest) edit delete reply
@mag thanks for clarifying that, I was going to ask if everyone (or close to it) leveled up.
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
So are Beth and Alexander Fives now? They were both high Fours (whereas Sylene was a low Three - RZ is probably at Sylene's old level now).
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@asheswillfall - My pleasure :)

@aok666 - No.. No one else was anywhere close to being a Five.

What got Chekov so worked up? I guess he was bound to do something. So much remains to be told! How will they manage in a zombie world without Robert? Poor Robert. Anyway, Beth is happy, so it was for the best. Good bye and good luck!
Centcomm edit delete reply
Centcomm
that means Beth leveled too!! excellent ending - really sweet .. um squishy ending !! :D beth looks so dang happy !
** oops ok beth didnt level .. oh well still fab!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@PhilC - If you go back, he's actually had a pissed off face in every panel he's been shown in since the base got raided / decapitated all of his friends. Not that I'm trying to claim that my writing is on par or anything, but to use Watchmen as an analogy, Phantom was playing the role of Dr. Manhattan, accepting the logic despite the atrocities. Chekhov was unwilling or unable to look beyond the crimes, like Rorschach.

@Centcomm - She higher than she was, but she is also unlikely to really appreciate it much...

It's like a bucket full of water.. Pour it into a thimble, and you're wondering why you put so much water in.. Pour it into a pool, and you aren't really going to notice it.

Beth has her son back, which was a major part of her character arc for the entire story :) That's why she was so happy.
PhilC edit delete reply
PhilC
Never compromise!
Yes on the pissed-off-ness. He sure was a bit irritated with RZ in the van. Nice contrast with the time Chekov was saying "right" a bunch of times in the car with Alexander, who thought he was giving directions. :)
Scalfin (Guest) edit delete reply
I still have no idea what Robert was doing, or really any of his conversation with John.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@PhilC - Yeah, he was irritated in general, RZ just happened to bring attention to himself... But much like RZ still calling her Beth, I wanted to set up some things in those strips to reflect back on later :)

And yes, that's exactly why he was saying Wrong over and over gain.

@Scalfin - Robert's goal was to artificially create Enlightement, allowing all members of the society to increase their levels, to restore as much humanity as he could. It was primarily motivated from guilt for having caused it all in the first place.
Marlox (Guest) edit delete reply
Ah okay, fair enough. I reckon that Robert was the first human to be infected, and due to the fact that he consequently started the family tree of enlightenment, he would have benefitted from every single human being on the planet turning into zombies. If this holds true, there must be a fair few more zombies who are very close - if not at - Robert's level of enlightenment. These would have been the people who's brains were eaten first. If there isn't, I think there is a slight plot hole here ;D
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Marlox - No one was anywhere close to Robert's level :)

It's not a plot hole, just something that you don't completely understand :)
Marlox (Guest) edit delete reply
I don't understand because no one will explain it D:
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I know.. You're not expected to completely understand it...

I'm just telling you that you're incorrect, and it's not a plot hole :)

Just wanted to thank you for the fun ride. Look, you started a comic, married your srtist, and both of you shared togm with anyone who wanted to belly up to the braincase. My thought, is that Robert was a huge store of the world's total intelligence he ate a bunch of really smart people in the beginning. Thomas knew him from then, saw where things were heading, built his lair and hid before Z-Day. It could have also been a hideout incase the ebola virus got loose or to watch its intended release. By making the race imortal though, Robert really made us extinct since zombies don't reproduce. Two other comics that have bering on my thoughts.

Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
June and I were married well before starting the comic :)

The lair was built by Dr. Murphy, and part of a separate experiment. They just happened to be friends.

Though, I'm not sure if I've explicitly said, but the same reason that John didn't know about Lisa / Alice until asked is the same reason that he 'stumbled' across the bunker.

That information was placed in his memory in the same way.

This...is a very disappointing ending. Almost nothing was answered. There is so mush more that could have happened then a brute smashing his head in on the last page. :/
Magravan edit delete reply

We had to end the comic quicker than we originally intended due to our situation outside of things. We are hoping to do a 10 page mini comic after Skrael finishes her stint on EverydayAbnormal.

That being said, the Q&A explains a fair bit, if you're inclined to check it out.
