I'd really like to know all the details behind this green stuff, especially on this page. I've been wondering about it since it was first shown.
D:
also how long do I have to send you that fanart because I need to finish it
RZ LEVELED UP
@MatthewJA - :O That's the question you're supposed to be asking ;)
I have one thing of fanart, so if I get something by this time in 2 days, then it'll go up, otherwise, I might put everything up on the facebook page, but less exposure for people :)
So long as I have something to put up, the deadline will be extended :)
Also, thank you for noticing that RZ levelled up.. I wasn't sure if it would be clear what happened there.
P.S. I just sent you some fan art.
RZ IMA FIRING MAH LAZAH
BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH
great comic and it been a fun read i will miss the replys
and now for a old quote
END OF LINE
Great story guys I'll miss reading you..
That is all.
I feel like there was a lot missing from this story that would normally help to fill in the blanks. Because, yeah... so not getting it.
You both better stick around and keep in touch with us Furians, though. D:< *shakes fist*
I'm working on fanart right awaaaaay!
@MatthewJA - Sort of, but not in the way you're thinking.
@neon5162 - Yes,everything post 300 was RZ just destroying everything with his newfound powers :D
@Balthasar - I may do a question and answer period, if nothing else works out.
@Sara - I will explain in some fashion at some point. However, if I do explain it, it means that the rest of the story isn't being written. So I'm holding off on explanations until we're certain.
@Fortunado1972 - You're very close to the right idea :)
@Beadle - That is enough ;)
@Darr - Some of them didn't seem very controlled to me ;)
@Pashakitty - John started the comic, he was a clone of Thomas, who made a brief appearance just before the end of Book 2. Thomas was killed by a One, became a One himself, and eventually ended up decapitated in Robert's lab. John is the only human character left in the story, barring Robert's unreleased clones.
@aok666 - He levelled up because Robert died. He is addressing Beth as Mom because throughout the comic he referred to her as Beth, and this was a way for everyone to realize that he had levelled up.
And the world of 301+ was going to become a very bleak place. ;)
@Guest - Thank you! And yes, I intend to keep in touch :) CF has been an important part of my life for 3 years, I'm not going to disappear :)
Congratulations on a job fantastically done.
Chekhov's guns? Check.
Now, allow me to ask, will there be any more? You know, stuff that will explain, how the 'Enlightenment' (which is without much of a doubt, the green stuff only John can see) works? How Robert even TURNED himself into a Zombie? And what exactly John really is? Or why the little RZ has 'levelled up' all of a sudden...because Robert is now dead, all his Enlightenment is passed down to his subjects, or something?
Or could it be...even though I doubt that's even possible...that Robert's death 'broke' the Zombie curse, and all those under his 'spell' will now revert to regular humans...with regular brains?
So many questions, so little information.
I've read you won't be posting any more on here...but if you were to try and answer some of these questions...where would you do that?
Best regards: Refugnic Eternium.
Thank you at least for the very interesting and entertaining read.
And if I may say so (Of course you will probably not acknowledge nor deny my thesis): I think RZ didn't level up... he just de-zombified.
Thank you for 300 great updates. I will say once more that this webcomic is one of the best I have ever read. I will miss the story and I will miss the art. Most of all I will miss how both of you took the time to discuss each comic with us.
...aaaand if you two change your mind I ll be here to go on reading. :)
@the_brigand - YES! YESSSS! Thank you for noticing :D I was wondering if anyone would get that... I subverted it initially, to make people think that he was going to have something to do with Beth's escape, but I always intended for him to be important...
@Unka John - Yaaay! I hope everything is going well for you.. You are missed!
@asheswillfall - And that's what I was going for... Understandable why he might do it, but still kind of a dick :)
Chad still had a part to play, and I wanted the implication with regards to him to dawn on the reader as they recognized what this meant...
@Refugnic Eternium - I'm trying to figure out which would be the best way to not answer anything specifically at this time, but to provide the answers once I'm sure we're committed to stopping...
I thought the Facebook page would be the easiest, but I know that some people don't have / want Facebook. Same with Twitter (I know that I only really use it on special occasions..)
So ... I don't know? Thoughts? What would be the best way to contact people and let them know that we're just going to answer the questions?
I will say, without a doubt, they are not regular humans. RZ's moment was meant to show him becoming a Three. He absolutely levelled up, and it was because of Robert's death.
@Muchacho NL - I'm pretty sure it is the end of TOGM, yes. Some fanart going up for the next little while, but there will be no more in canon strips, so far as I know as of today.
I am denying your thesis :) RZ levelled up :)
@Ras - Thanks so much for reading! Interacting with the readers has been one of the best parts of the comic, and I'm glad that we had the opportunity.
Ahhh well, live and learn :D
@Marlox - Well, they all increased in Enlightenment. Sylene was too far from becoming a Four... All Ones are now twos, those close to the next stage will have levelled up...
Robert was the Five, by their standards.
@PixieSingsBass - That was a significant portion of Beth's story, yes. This ending is happy in one sense, and is very much like Into The Woods before the intermission. Everything seems like it ended well, and a lot of the wrongs were addressed...
However, once the curtain lifts again, you realize that they really didn't figure out how to make TOGM...
@model S - Thank you! You've been very supportive, and it has been appreciated. Thanks for reading.
@Violet Black - Hopefully it wasn't too unbelievable :)
@aok666 - Mmmmmm, not answering that one just yet. I will say that a loooong time ago, with far less information, one reader basically nailed it pretty much perfectly... So it is possible to figure out ;)
@aok666 - No.. No one else was anywhere close to being a Five.
** oops ok beth didnt level .. oh well still fab!
@Centcomm - She higher than she was, but she is also unlikely to really appreciate it much...
It's like a bucket full of water.. Pour it into a thimble, and you're wondering why you put so much water in.. Pour it into a pool, and you aren't really going to notice it.
Beth has her son back, which was a major part of her character arc for the entire story :) That's why she was so happy.
Yes on the pissed-off-ness. He sure was a bit irritated with RZ in the van. Nice contrast with the time Chekov was saying "right" a bunch of times in the car with Alexander, who thought he was giving directions. :)
And yes, that's exactly why he was saying Wrong over and over gain.
@Scalfin - Robert's goal was to artificially create Enlightement, allowing all members of the society to increase their levels, to restore as much humanity as he could. It was primarily motivated from guilt for having caused it all in the first place.
It's not a plot hole, just something that you don't completely understand :)
I'm just telling you that you're incorrect, and it's not a plot hole :)

The lair was built by Dr. Murphy, and part of a separate experiment. They just happened to be friends.
Though, I'm not sure if I've explicitly said, but the same reason that John didn't know about Lisa / Alice until asked is the same reason that he 'stumbled' across the bunker.
That information was placed in his memory in the same way.
That being said, the Q&A explains a fair bit, if you're inclined to check it out.
