Skrael (I'm the artist)
Friendly Neighbourhood Skrael here! As you have possibly gleaned from his previous comments, James has been super busy! Well, he asked me to letter and upload this one, so if it looks wonky, you know why!

I'm not sure if he will be able to post a comment on this one at all, but well see. After tomorrow, James should be decidedly less busy. :D

Also, since I didn't have the next script written for me, I decided to upload a different incentive image. Something that's been hanging out in my mind that I thought would make a funny extra "comic" :D

Meh, I don't really like the "better analogy".

I take it those aren't all the Phantom's men, but some are ones that were the ones wandering in the wastelands?

Looks like they're all hooked up to some virtual reality, with the glasses and everything.
Robert's system solves the usual zombie-movie problem when someone collects a bunch of them together for experimentation, which is that they inevitably get loose and go on a rampage. Lose the bodies! The heads are the only useful parts anyway!

So, these are human heads I take it? And the VR is the source of the brain engrams used in the 3D Printers we saw in the factory?

Cool shades, can I get a pair?

I had another 2 thoughts;
1- Just how many heads does he have, I bet Thousands upon Thousands. Keep just enough of society around to maintain the factory, and the lab, and still have a world to rule over.
2- Taking a page out of House Harkonnen of the "DUNE" universe. I bet he has the heads of the people who built the lab stocked away in a very special place, to keep them from telling anyone about it. Very effective way of tying up loose ends.

If this keeps up I might have to switch my loyalty from The Phantom to Robert...Nah.

@Nightsky - I'm guessing John's not going to appreciate it either ;)

@Asheswillfall - Those are a variety of people :)

@PhilC - Initially I had suggested Smart Glass or something, but goggles achieved the same thing without being potentially misunderstood.

@Dave - No, they are zombie heads :)

@T.Gatto - Yes! Sadly, it requires you to be decapitated first.

And it's funny that you mentioned Dune! I was in a bookstore and saw a couple of the later ones... If I could have grabbed the first one, I would have!

...Yeah, no idea what's going on here. Sorry.

Interesting, if I am following this correctly. One can only remain enlightened so long as the ones that they enlightened (And those they've enlightened have enlightened themselves)remain "alive." In sort of a Chain

So (Assuming I have the chain right)

Robert > Beth > Chad (he mentioned about carrying her to a 4)

So if Chad were to die permanently, It would take Enlightenment points away from both Beth and Robert. Where if Beth were to permanently die, it would just take them away from Robert and anyone between her and Robert.

@L - Hopefully the subsequent comics help :)

@Feartheswans - That pretty much sums it up, yes :)

I wonder if he tortures the ones he doesn't like, by making them watch constant re-runs of 'Petticoat Junction"?

aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
@T.Gatto: they're mostly Ones - they'll be watching "Teletubbies".

@T.Gatto - I've never watched the show, so I'm not sure if he's capable of that level of torture ;)

@aok666 - Teletubbies for everyOne :D
