Hey everyone, I hope your week is going well so far!

In comic news, I'm thinking that I'm going to do groups of Beth, groups of John, and then more minor characters in between for the pacing this time around. I guess after we do it a few times, you guys can let me know what you think of the pacing.

In personal news, I'm applying for a new job! I'm not sure if I mentioned it yet, but there are several Special Constable positions coming open, so I am applying. I'm really hoping it pans out, and I'm happy to know that if I do get it, it opens up a full time slot at the place I currently work for one of the part timers who really wants full time. (And if he gets in Full time, it opens his part time position for someone who is currently casual)

So if it works out, it's one of those things that a few people get a bit of a boost, though I will miss working with these guys... Given that it is a part time position though, I might be able to pick up some shifts here to keep in touch...

Ahhhhh, I'm excited, even though the hiring process is still a fair amount of time before I'd find out a positive answer. A negative answer could come sooner, but I think I'll be patient on this one ;)

Have a great weekend everyone, take care!

Good luck on the job hunt! I hope you get it, the help it can give everyone sounds awesome!

Also, I noticed for the first time that if you hover over the page there's a little message about obscure references. :o

Hmm... I'm stumped. I have no idea where the title comes from. Of course I'm also not clear who the driver is here or how he ended up with Checkov all tied up, so I may just be oblivious. One thing I do know though is one should never ask for directions from a One, and be cautious following directions even from a Two.

@Cyrian - Thank you! I'm really hoping to get this specific position, but if it doesn't work out for some reason, there are a few other places I'd like to try out.

@Vash_ts - Haha, well, this numbskull has the 'guns', so he's kind of boned anyway :)

@Nightsky - Hover text is somewhat rare... I generally only include it if there's something else to say, or something I wanted to include as a joke or something but couldn't... I kind of wanted to do the "Two wrongs don't make a Right, but Four Rights ... Nevermind." as the title, but I wasn't sure if it would fit, and June wanted a chance to title this one, so I put mine in the hover text instead :)

And I'm one of those people who, even though I told the HR guy that in 5 years I saw myself in Policing, would feel bad about leaving the job... So I'm trying to remind myself that there are competent, interested people to fill each spot that would come open, except that they'll need to find a new casual person to train.

@Muchacho NL - Five Rights make a Right ;)

@Lunaroki - I knooooow! It's obscure! She likes to include lyrics as titles or phrases in the comments sometimes... I think that it's a lyric from a Doors song.

That's correct Mag... it's from the song: Five to One.
Only thing is that it's the other way around in the song, but still... Awesome reference :)

And @ the 5 rights make a right comment: Right! ^_^
Skrael (I'm the artist)
Crap! I didn't mean to get the lyrics backwards. And I used to be such a huge Doors fan too.. Well, the lyrics work better this way for this.

@Muchacho NL - I'm glad someone enjoyed it ;D

@Skrael - Indeed! All part of the plan >_>

Hey, my comment disappeared, must have been The Phantom!

Good luck with the Job!!!

As for Chekov, I thought he was the navigator, and Sulu fired the Guns? I had to look uo the Chekov's Guns reference to get the real meaning. ;)

Chekhov isn't very good at navigating ;)

And thank you!

Best of luck with the job Magravan! (It's placement application time here so I've been going through interviews myself.)

Four rights send them round in a circle surely? Should have taken Sylene/a Sack Brigadeer instead of Chekhov.

Skrael, if you didn't mention it... everybody would've thought of it as intentional ;)

@aok666 - Awesome, good luck to you as well! If you want, let me know what you end up going with :D

And yes, that's why Alexander is not terribly impressed with him right now ;)

@Muchacho NL - I know! I think we both suffer from an overabundance of unnecessary honesty :)

For those of us not north of the 45th what is special about a special constable? Down here there are special people too but they ride the short bus and you don't want to be lumped in with them. There are also spacial people but they just are a waste of space.

@Lunaroki

It's a combination of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGHhqV_QhzE and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChekhovsGun

hope that works for ya.

@Guest - Just different duties than a typical Police Officer. They don't carry a gun, and are a civilian role. They are basically there to support the system in place by filling some of the areas that would not be cost effective to use a uniformed officer. :)

@Vovk - But mainly the Doors song lyrics ;)

@model S - Thank you! I wont have a positive answer until some time in April or even later.. So any answer that comes before that would be that they are not continuing with my application...

So hopefully I have no definitive answer for a while ;)

Ah, I see - Special Constable is equivalent to a Police Community Support Officer?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I have no idea, to be honest.
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
Would be weirdly appropriate, since that's usually abbreviated to PCSO - only one letter different from the TOGMverse Public Safety Officers. A bit of Tippex and you'll be ready to join Robert's finest (well, Karl and Chuck) in scraping up mashed Ones...

Well, at least it would be better than starting on the ground floor :D
