Hey there, hope you had a good weekend!

June and I debated over her use of "flesh" coloured, since it is kind of ethnocentric to assume that caucasian tones are the proper tones for flesh... But honestly, peach sounded terrible, and Sylene can be ethnocentric... So this is what we end up with ;)

For those of you too young to know who Twisted Sister are, they were a 'hair band' in the 80's or 90's that I enjoyed :) I don't think she was specifically going for a style of theirs, but the script said something like "Bad glam rocker hair".

All in all, Phantom is showing that he has no idea when it comes to improving Thomas' appearance, and Sylene is not getting very far either...

Have a great week everyone! Happy Canada Day if you're Canadian, Happy Independence Day if you're American! Happy Monday or other significant day if you're not in the above to categories! (Lots of ethnocentricity today, it seems...)

I just want to say I love this comic strip. I actually found this through Wake The Sleepers on Saturday and read through the entire series in one night. Just wanna say to keep up the good work.

It's not easy to make a zombie look good apparently. How did Beth and Sylene end up so hot then? :)
Easy Lee (Guest) edit delete reply
Beth and Sylene have a 4-hour routine in order to make them look good. You ever wondered why none of these comics are set in the early morning?

Nice touch with rainbow fibers!

Love Sylene's expression in panel II.

Keep up the good work (ethnocentric or not)!

trust me age has nothing to do with knowing twisted sister. i'm 19 and i know them. it's just a case of being in the crowd. btw twisted sister is a glam-metal band
D_Man edit delete reply
Sylene almost looks like she's ready to eat Thomas (?...) in the second panel (only if you just look at the pictures without reading the dialogue)

Ah twisted sister... good memories

@TheAlien - Thank you so much ;) How long did it take? I know that it can be quite the slog at times... :)

@bbedlam - No, and that's sort of what we're getting into here... Beth's got a good position because she's capable with quality materials and all that stuff.. Phantom is making due with lousy materials and people who aren't cut out to use them... Even Sylene, who is relatively well put together herself is not able to whip up a miracle...

@Easy Lee - There were a few :D Fortunately, zombies don't sleep, so they can do it whenever they have some spare time ;)

@Robotwin.com - Well, it was Pride parade week in Toronto this past week, so it's well timed... The fact that June loves rainbows herself doesn't hurt :)

@T.Gatto - Thank you, we will :)

@thedutchdevil - Yeah, the Twisted Sister reference was more my own thoughts on it... Ahhh, now I want to go listen to them again...

@D_Man - She's a little too late on that one, unfortunately ;D My memories of them are really good, except that The Beast scared the heck out of me when I used to listen to the tape all night when I was really young...

Heh the look on thomas's? face in the last panel.
If I didn't know his brain was completely gone I'd swear he was exasperated.

I'm hoooooome!!! Great work on the art this one! The writing is great but the art really carries this one. Great work guys!

Using "caucasian" to mean "light skinned" is still ethnocentric. The Caucasian Race is the biggest of the big 3, and includes the aboriginal populations of North Africa, the Middle East, West Asia, Central Asia, and South Asia. Europe too, yes, but the majority of caucasians are significantly darker than "peach"
Thisguy (Guest) edit delete reply
Heheheh, I love Phantom's attempts at "helping", he really has no clue, hard to believe he's actually a threat with incompetent ones and twos and little to no supplies.
Just another ordinary day here in Australia, not that our national holidays are that special anyway, just another excuse to take a day off.

Probably one of the most origional webbys I've seen in a long time... I really hope you guys keep ut the good work... and even get a few "naughty" bits in too...
CHEERS!
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
@Thisguy: if he is clever and the incompetants do as he says, he can still cause a lot of hassle. Even if it's just by sending the Twos out to wander around and get in the way of important stuff. And I'm guessing they can at least steal things and possibly achieve the occasional cut brake-line/headshot.
David (Guest) edit delete reply
All right? I'm confused. Is our main character an undead or is he not? Who is here with the hole in his head and who is in the last comic helping the kid?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@snoog - Yes, that's Thomas. Thomas is the one looking undead, John is the one looking human with R.Z.

@model S - The art usually carries the writing ;)

@dr pepper - See, I didn't even know that. I guess it shows how often I talk in those terms ;)

@Thisguy - Well, he is apparently good at kidnapping :)

@uberskeeve - Thank you! We will do our best to keep at it ;D

@aok666 - At this point, I don't even think the Phantom would be okay with headshotting his fellow zombies. :) But yes, he can be quite effective, we just aren't seeing much of it lately ;)

@David - Our main character is not undead. That was a red herring in the form of Thomas. The specific relationship between the two has not been made clear yet.
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
actually mag they're usually pretty even. they usually carry eachother, i dunno mag the writing is still good, but i think this one was just too much of a visual joke, instead of a writing joke.
Skrael (I'm the artist)
I love how model S always puts "Title" and it never shows to anyone except us .. and maybe Kyo if he looked :D
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
i knew that! that's why i do it, so you'd know a fake if one ever showed. ... or something. i dunno. but i like how i'm like one of the only people you reply to skrael ^^
Kyo edit delete reply
Kyo
You can see it in the comic profile too, actually
TheAlien (Guest) edit delete reply
@Magravan It only took about an hour but I enjoyed every minute of it.
Magravan edit delete reply

@model S - Yeah, sometimes it relies more on the visuals to tell the joke, sometimes she injects the visual humour into it even though it wasn't there.

You could also log in.. just sayin' ;)

@Kyo - Way to ruin the illusion, you monster.

@TheAlien - Oh awesome, I thought it took way longer... I tend to read the notes and comments when I go back to read it for anything other than a reference... So it takes me a long time to go through it :D

Thanks again for letting us know you were out there :)

I have a guess, but I think of it as this twisted song I leaned as a kid.

idd posted this in his title in the previous message:

"oh give me a clone/of my own flesh and bone/with the Y chromosome changed to X"

good morning, *pout* aww you gave it away. I was hoping more people would find the profile... I need to sleep now, need to be up for work in 5 hours, and I am not a zombie yet.
Skrael (I'm the artist)
Oh I'm sorry! :/ I thought I was doing you a favour..

I love how you two can make the uber-serious character unintentionally funny (as in HE doesn't intend to be funny while YOU do).
