I had stuff to say, and I might say more stuff later... But right now, all I can say is that we found our cat!! She's been outside 6 days, and we found her in a skid under some firewood... I'm going to see if people are actually living there, and if so, I'm going to give them a gift, even though no one is technically entitled to the reward we posted (except June, maybe, haha... But I'll tell her that I was paying for it with her Cintiq fund if she tries that one... :P )

Oh, and if you go back one, you'll see a guest comic from Sunday Smash that's very good.

I may have more later, but for now, have a great week... We sure will!! :D :D

Hurrah for the return of the kitty! Very happy for you both that she turned up.

And poor Beth, she's got so much to do and so little time.

Kitty ran away from home about 300 feet?

I glad that she just got confused about where she left her servants. I am very glad she found you (that's her story). At least that's what she Twittering to all her cat friends. Funny story about Twittering both my cats signed up, the thought it was a bird-of-the-month club. Luckily, I took away their credit card in time.

@Skrael: I do like the little touches like the personalized keychain, also your faces are getting much more expressive.

@Magravan: Why can the PSO order Beth around?

@MatthewJA - Yep, zombies have phones ;) I figure that it wouldn't be hard for Robert to take control of several of the telecommunications satellites to keep things going.

@bbedlam - Me too! I didn't realize how stressed I was about it until she came home and I felt it all release..

And yes, Beth has a lot to do ;)

@ranger_brian_new - I'm pretty sure she's okay, just a little malnourished and possibly psychologically affected... We're going to take her to the vet tomorrow to see.

@MarshmallowGherkin - I think she was channeling June to some degree when she picked it ;D

@Metsfan - Haha :) That's a great new icon ;D And yes, it was quick on her feet :D

@Jamming - Not too far at all, which is typical for cats... The biggest concern that I had was that there was construction the next day, and lots of dogs in the neighbourhood... I was concerned that she had run and hid some place that we wouldn't find her, or gotten into a yard where a dog showed up and mauled her...

@Jrade - The Phantom, obviously. Everything bad is his fault ;)

@Jacob Gristwood - Hurray for June for finding Rahne :D

@MatthewJA - lol :D

@redder - I'm so glad we got the cat back :D And we'll have to see if he knows how to drive...

As for the network, I'm guessing that it's just a group of satellites that Robert has taken control of creating his own TOGM Corp. network :)

@gordebak - Me too :)

@AngryRob - lol :) Did you read that as a shortform for USA? :P And yes, I'll go mention that above as well ;)

Many years ago, my cat disappeared for a week, I'd pretty well given her up when I heard a familiar thump on the porch followed by a very assertive meow, and there she was!
She quickly rubbed against my leg and headed straight for her dish, which I happily filled up. No idea where she'd been, but so happy to have her back.

Unfortunately, Rahne seems worse for the experience... She's been sleeping and eating and not too much else... But we're hoping that after some time and a trip to the vet that she'll be up and about again.

Haha thanks! (When you wrote "icon", I think the "Royal Icon" from Hey Arnold!. Sweet nostalgia ;)

What about the POS? Are they just Gestapo?

Does POS also have the "standard meaning" or is that just a happy coincidence?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Metsfan - Sorry, I meant Avatar ;) I could call you football head if it helps though ;)

@Skrael - Like I said, channeling a bit of you when you gave her that ;)

@Jamming - The PSO are Robert's police force, and it stands for Public Safety Officer. Gestapo is an apt term at times, for some of them, but for the most part they are just regular police.

have you guys considered having a talk with your advertising provider? I'm seeing an ad for TOGM on this site.

anyway, things are heating up and I like it. I'm also enjoying the fact that you're not trying to cram a joke into every strip.

YAY! kitty's back!

well that's a great comic right there. beth and her smartassery and distaste for chad. let chad burn. oh wait... does he know who tom is now? wait. with sylene he has no information. this could be trouble...

@the_brigand - Haha, the bottom Skyscraper is a voluntary ad that I'm hosting for CF (Much like the two halfbanners at the bottom).. I also decided to bid $.10 on it in order to help support the place, whether directly or by bumping up the value if I'm outbid... So until more people join in and the value goes beyond $.10, I'll be bidding on my own space, I suppose :D When there are no ads up, I've also got TOGM as our base ad, just because I think it looks nice :D

@model S - This could be trouble indeed :D

The cell phone network is terrestrial based anyway. Local towers are linked to the POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) network at various centers in each service area. The towers are their own network inside a service area, provided the other things they depend on in a given phone area are operational.

The only thing that might flow though satellite are overseas calls or special satellite phones. There is delay for satellite phone connections. It is much faster to route calls over Fiber though -- speed of light and all that.

One question just occurred to me.. how much of an area does TOGM cover? It seems to be no more than a state sized area. Or this may be an odd concept considering the variations in terrain, but something like GTA:Vice City...
Are zombies afraid of water/drowning, or is it more of a dissolving /waterlogged issue.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Hmmmm.. Well, that's part of not knowing everything (Curse this non-zombie brain of mine!), sometimes you make stuff up that doesn't make sense...

The current area is the major hub of Zombie Society right now... and it's not a large area... Zombies don't travel much mainly because the primary means of mass distance travel are down, and if you lack sufficient TOGM, you basically turn into a mindless drone before you get to your destination anyways...

But the current area is something like maybe a large town to a small city sized... Currently. Admittedly, I'm probably going to have to retcon the crap out of this stuff later on when I realize that lack of foresight has backed me into a corner ;D
