Hey everyone, hope you're having a great week thusfar!

As some of you may know, June and I are from Canada, and today (at least when you're reading this) is Remembrance Day for us here. So, rather than a typical entry, I just wanted to take the time to say Thank You! to all our Veterans.

Whether you believe in the current wars or even any War in general, you have to appreciate that there were people who answered their country's call to fight something that they could have claimed was someone else's problem. They left their friends, they left their families and they left their homes to go fight in another land to help return freedom to those who had it taken from them. They didn't leave it to someone else, or slough off responsibility to defend the rights of others.

I just wanted to take this little soapbox that is my Author's Note to show that I remember their sacrifices. Regardless of my opinion on any given war, I support the soldiers who have placed their lives in the hands of our country, and the sacrifices they continue to make.

Thanks for your indulgence, and Happy Remembrance Day.

Just letting people know that the Webcomic List Awards are going on... Unfortunately, we were too young as a comic last year (Only a couple of updates into the story), and we're too old now to be considered for the Best New comic... But there are probably lots of comics that people read, and if you're involved with the creation or anything of the comics, you can get involved!

Of course, my comment was about Nov. 11th, and assumed that it wouldn't be up until then.... I guess I am a little embarrassed myself ;)

Nope-no snappy alliteration(?) this time. Still, looks like chad needs a head-end. Maybe Robert could put some more heads in there to straighten everything out. Or else just turn Chad on his side. But I digress...

Due to the time zone difference, I always get these at nine o'clock on wednesdays and saturdays. Today's came at eight, an early surprise.

I also want to agree, vehemently, with what you said and how you phrased it. One of my friends (who is in the military) put it this way: "Even if you don't support the war, support the soldiers."

So, thank you - veterans and soldiers alike.

On a completely not even slightly a little bit related topic, this made me laugh really hard, to the point that I almost sprayed coca-cola all over my monitor.

You just know that when Chad hit himself, he hit hard!
Pieguy (Guest) edit delete reply
Well, looks like Chad really lost his head there. He was out of his skull, thinking he could fight Robert. He'll have to face the music now. Not very res-bonce-ible of him.

I'm done.
Mike (Guest) edit delete reply
... how is he talking with no lungs?

:P I promise to never poke holes in your thoroughly amusing and awesome story again!

This was a GREAT comic! keep up the great stories!

Gotta love disembodied conversations. :P

I like Alexander too now. Seems I like anyone who mocks/beats/do whatever unpleasant things to Chad. Although considering Chad brought this on himself, perhaps that means I like Chad too. I am confused.

P.S. Why does Alexander look like a One?
Hagelander (Guest) edit delete reply
he should have know he was heading towars his own death, but this is far more amusing for us

roughly translated it's ceasefire day here in belgium, I think noone will be surprised that we took part in that war.
we went to the tyle cot 2weeks ago, lots of canadians are burried there who died fighting so that I could live in a free state

I think that the only reason they DON'T look like ones is the plastic surgery, so maybe that wears off in zombies :P What's-her-face's job seems pretty important, I mean.

That or robert took away the prettyness
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
well that was an intresting turn of events. not what i was expecting at all. i hope chad gets a new body. something really wussy.

side note i understand alex talking as the stand could have some kind of air device that allows him to talk.... but there's just no way chad can be talking... scientifically i mean.
Lunaris_Starchilde edit delete reply
Lunaris_Starchilde
@model s; maybe since chad's not on a stand, that's the reason he's not talking right now. you'd think he'd say something back.

@3.4 - Chad doesn't warrant a head end :)

@Jrade - You've got it! Politicians decide where they go and who they fight... The Soldiers themselves just support the national interests, whatever they happen to be at the time... And yes, he was made to feel pretty stupid about trying to use the body against Robert :)

@Pieguy - It was good while it lasted :)

@Mike - It's DM magic :D Voice modulators in the throat? ;P

@Fortunado1972 - It's funny how I seem to get compliments on the ones that I don't feel were particularly good :)

@ranger_brian_new - Talking heads :D

@Barra - I think that when you get into a logical conundrum like that, it's best just to agree that Chad's a jerk ;) And Alexander got stripped down before being mounted :)

@Hagelander - Death? Definitely not... But this is about as close to Death as is officially sanctioned ;)

And that's really awesome that you guys still commemorate those who lost their lives there :)

@Ice the frosty cat - Really? I think EVERYONE's going to want to help him.. I mean.. He's Chad! Who wouldn't want to help him?

@MatthewJA - No, he was intentionally stripped :) But even those with the 'improvements' still break down eventually...

@hedgehogboy5 - You've got it exactly.

@model S - Haha :) Who knows... But I think he'll be thinking twice before he crosses Robert again :)

And scientifically, none of them necessarily have bodies that work like humans, so they could easily have a voice creation thing, much like the Roger Ebert one...
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Lunaris_Starchilde - That's a much better explanation, let's go with that :)
Hagelander (Guest) edit delete reply
I think Chad would rather die then be kept as a trofee/warning
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I'm sure he would... But I doubt Robert's giving him much of a choice :D
Violet (Guest) edit delete reply
Wow, so even the Five enjoys the classic stop-hitting-yourself game!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Indeed, but it's a lot funnier with a remote control ;)
3.4 (Guest) edit delete reply
@Magravan
Yeah, I guess you'd need like 2 more with one that just wouldn't stay up for a head end. Technically he is at least leaning there and not sliding down. His head seems a bit more stable than I'd thought it would be.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
June was originally going to have him on the side with his face mashed against the shelf and his head poking into Alexander, but it didn't fit with what I needed for the next strip, so we ended up with this instead :)

You guys probably need to plan for more jokes though... We've probably got at least 2 more scenes with the bodyless horsemen ;)

Do I sense the headwaters of a new story arc?
Magravan edit delete reply

Skrael and I will probably have to have a tête à tête on it ;) ... That would be much better if I knew how to put in the properly accented e...

3.4 (Guest) edit delete reply
The worst part is that chad just wanted to get ahead-now he's go no body to love him.

And for the encore.
Chad the tool is gettin' schooled by a disembodied ghoul who's teachin him the rules cause it aint cool to be a disembodied fool!
Yeah! How ya like me now b*tch?!

@ Magravan -Hmm...I know it's ALT and four numbers...õôêëìé - Oh hey! It's ALT 0233!

Wait a second...tete has the other one...çéè - ALT 0232! Tète! Hooray!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Fixed :) But it turns out that it's the accent circonflexe (I think... long time since French classes...) for the e, and an accent grave for the a :) At least according to google results... You see the research that I do for these comments? :)

@Magravan, we are always harder on our own works than the most ignoble critic. It was witty and funny. While it didn't do much "storywise" it allows the reader to take a step back and breathe after some interesting changes to the cast (Tom finding a bunker body, R-zed eating real brains and getting enlightened, Sylene's capture and meeting the Phantom). Be a little easier on yourself I come by 3 or 4 times a week hoping for more Zombie goodness.

Well thank you :) I didn't expect Chad to do comic relief for R.Z. :)

well i hope they have more head puns. it'd be a shame for them to run out of jokes. right mag?

Hmmm. It's strangely satisfying to see Chad looking discombobulated. A heady sensation, one might say.

Sorry. They were having a pun-fest without me. I lost my head.

@model S - Oh yes... total shame... horrible, that :P

Did the shirt come yet?

@ranger_brian_new - Oh, I suspect you guys will have some more :)

@PixieSingsBass - I didn't think you'd be able to resist :)

sadly i don't know, i'm in montana for gramma's 80th birthday. i took the liberty of telling her happy birthday for you and june. i'll contact my mom as soon as i can and see if it came. i will however note that i will be posting some pictures in the forum from her little party.

It is common knowledge that everyone wants to get a-head.

As a veteran, thanks for remembering it makes us feel it was worthwhile.

To our Belguim friend, your people continued to fight the only way they could, from England like the Free French and from the Shadows, it takes courage to fight on.
Hagelander (Guest) edit delete reply
well . . . I only live in Belgium, I'm Dutch

and with the great war, we mean the first world war, the Belgiums kept on fighting in the trenches till the end of the war, while the dutch sat on their coward asses and sold combat drug for LOTS of money . . . yhea fuck us

the whole resistance stuff is from the second world war, and both my grandfather and greatgrandfather fought in the resistance, my 6year old grandfather smuggled weapons
my greatgrandfather died of madness after the war from seeing all his friends get shot, my grandfather died last year in hospital while having nightmares about the war all the time
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@MatthewJA - You've made up for it on the boards :P

@model S - I saw it, glad that you're sharing it with us on our forum :)

@Jamming - It's the least we can do.

@Hagelander - And that's part of the reason why we need to take the time to remember them. People all over the world had to suffer through that horrible experience because of the actions of certain groups...

Ideally, Remembrance ensures that people making the decisions do not put our soldiers through things like that lightly... But we can also remember that when it was necessary, people stood up to do the job, even though it cost them...
Hagelander (Guest) edit delete reply
@Magravan: isn't that very idealistic of you? the people who make decisions are usualy only in it for the money and personal gains (because only that type of person gets that high in the ranks)
rememberance tells me to listen to reason and not the the people in command

anyway I hoped timezones would give me a sunday night update, but alas it was not meant te be
I get them monay morning

see you in a few hours! (but without the actual seeing and stuff, got nothing to do in canada tomorrow)
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
Ahhhh sorry, still a few hours off... I think it's going to go up an hour earlier than it's supposed to, but that doesn't help you much...

As for me being idealistic... Well, if you remember, then hopefully you're better equipped to deal with it than otherwise...

I hate to say it, but I think that the Entertainment industry might end up doing more to keep the horrors of Nazi-ism fresh in the minds of newer generations than all the parades and such could manage...
