Hey everyone, hope you're having a great week!

I guess now everyone knows what 100 holds in store! June didn't understand the title, and I didn't have time to come up with something better... Basically, referring to the poor timing of the call ;)

I think that the backgrounds for this one were especially elaborate, which means we'll NEVER use this scene again. Ever :P In fact, I've promised in return for suits of armour ;)

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

So I have all my lights on as I write this, because it's raining, and I'm home alone. And we ALL know that rain spreads the zombie virus around to cemetaries and stuff. I wish I was kidding.

Any way, I hope you enjoyed this TOGM! I tried to make panel 4 extra special! James wanted me to draw ornate doors and suits of armour, and this is what I came up with. So the armours are cut, pasted and flipped. So sue me! Each side is INDIVIDUALLY painted to show appropriate highlights and stuff, so technically, I did not cheat! Right, right? Right!
James promised me that I would never have to draw this scene again, so he better keep his word!

Also, Ghostbusters rule. (Sorry no glasses, they're not really a TOGM thing, except for R.Z.)
What else, what else?

OH! I have a JOB interview on Friday! For a job that is jobby! Please wish me a lot of luck, because I really would like to get this!

Super artwork Skrael, just plain super!
If you get the job and you are a mother, will you have time for TOGM?
Skrael (I'm the artist)
I sure hope so, Mo! James might beat me otherwise!

(He won't really beat me)

We're certainly going to try. I've told her that I will be taking on more of the household duties if she is able to get the job, so hopefully the time that she spends on TOGM will be taken out of the time that she would be spending on laundry and stuff like that...

It does, of course, make it less likely that we're going to hit 3x a week anytime soon, but we're going to be doing our best to keep TOGM updating on it's regularly scheduled update days :)

Simply put, we need the money of June working to keep afloat. TOGM, as much as we are enjoying it, is a money sink, not a money earner... We might resort to a tip jar or "Extra pages via donation", just to offset the extra costs of the comic...

most imporant stuff first: Good luck with the job interview!!

so you didn't like drawing armour? darn
they look more like gaurds than like decoration :p

also I cant wait for monday, I'll be leaving for a week on manday so I just have to hope I have the time to read my TOGM before I leave
looks like chad is fucked, big time
Skrael (I'm the artist)
@Hage Thanks :) It's not the drawing of the armour that sucks, it's the painting of the shiny, reflection-y things.:P
Jrade edit delete reply
Jrade
@Skrael - So far as the armour goes, I think the cut/paste/flip is fine...if you've ever been to Buckingham palace, all their guards look pretty similar...

This looks awesome, in a way that makes me feel immensely inadequate...good work!

Good luck with the interview, (although luck should hopefully factor less than skill. Will they be drawing names from a hat?) I hope you are able to get your jobby job!

@Magravan - I promise to: a) as soon as christmas rolls around, ask for a TOGM shirt, and b) as soon as I get some money in an electronically fluid form (PayPal, credit card, etcetera) to buy one for myself, or a coffee mug, or both.

@Anyone - Hi. How're you?

Chad sucks chad but it sucks to be chad

Heh. So it IS going to be Robert. I was considering it, because
1: It is a PSO-scene, and
2: You said "Or a new character". Kinda made it obvious, but it slipped my mind to mention it. (Beth theory fun kinda made me forget about my serious theory, 'cause fun theories are, well, fun. :P)
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Hagelander - Well, Robert could be the understanding kind of Tyrant?

@Jrade - Bwahahah! They do look very similar. I didn't go inside when I visited, but we looked in from the gate :)

As for buying shirts etc, it's actually not very viable for us as a money making thing. We might look into shirts that we can make a bit more money off in the future, but we tried to make them as cheap as possible to make it less of an investment ;) I think we make $1 on every shirt... They are good for advertising though :)

@3.4 - I think that Chad is thinking the same thing right about now...

@ranger_brian_new - Unlike Werewolf, it is not always my intention to trick you or make you work for it ;) Sometimes, I'm just being vague about it :D It lets the people who want to know figure it out, and the people who don't can choose not to think about it, and thus not be made aware :)

Good luck on the job interview June. Monies is always good.

Also if you do end up doing the donation thingy, I bet you could make some money doing fanservicey pictures of Beth and Sylene. I imagine they would be very popular.
Lunaris_Starchilde (Guest) edit delete reply
so... zombie nails grow?
Skrael (I'm the artist)
@Lunaris Nope, they're acrylic. :) Most zombies don't have hair either. They're wigs/weaves/extensions etc.

SCIENCE
ZOMBIES MAKE USE OF IT
Hagelander (Guest) edit delete reply
how can an understanding person become a tyrant?
oh sure, I bet he understands politics and he understands how to kill people . . . but understanding?
that's not part of his job description
Skrael (I'm the artist)
@Sprite That .. sounds like a really good tshirt idea.

Amazing backgrounds Skrael! I love the double doors. And no, it's not cheating to copy your own work. That's called an art technique, actually. At least that's what my design teacher taught me. LOL

Good luck on the application. I'm crossing my fingers and aiming some luck your way.

@Demus - We'll have to see what the future holds ;)

@Lunaris_Starchilde - Nope, but they like to pretend to be human..

@Onecanofsprite - Did you see my thing from last update about Cracked? Our zombies use science!

@Hagelander - Well... He could be the type who understands that his underlings are going to screw up?

@Lunaroki - Hehehehe :) Well, the fact that you don't feel sorry for him means I did my job in earlier writing ;)

GOLDEN DOORS, YAY!

that means it must be good.

...

...

right?
ranger_brianna_new edit delete reply
ranger_brianna_new
Right, and all Chad has to do in order to get in is to push this big, giant, red shiny button. :P
(Those never bring bad things, right? :P)
Ant (Guest) edit delete reply
@Hage. Well Tyrant is such a broad term, the "tyrant" in question wouldnt call themselves that nor see themselves as that, they see what they do as for the "greater good". Take Terry Pratchett's Lord Vettinari. He is perceived as a Tyrant (though which he neither really confirms nor denys the fact) he does what is in the best interest for Ankh Morpok as a whole and he truly is the best man for the job. So Robert with his smarter than everyone else Zombie brain would see that sometimes you have to be harsh to keep your world from spiralling back into chaos, anarchy and overall extinition of the humaniod race. Its not perfect but its stable.

Ok thats my two pence worth.

Oh and good luck with the Job (sorry for the Jobby quip, couldnt resist it)

I did too, to myself, but forgot to post it due to my Beth theory distracting me. Curse her charms! :P
Magravan edit delete reply

@Awshum - Pretty sure that golden doors are the universal sign for good things to come ;)

@ranger_brian_new - Perhaps while standing on the X...

@Ant - Well, without Robert, they wouldn't have a society at all... As smart as they might be, they'd all degenerate into hyper aggressive One-like zombies eventually... Those of the higher categories would hold out longer, but eventually everyone would be nothing more than the mindless urge for brains, even if they have to kill their zombie brethren for them... (Despite the fact that their zombie brethren are as bereft as they are...)

So.. Jerk or not, you've gotta appreciate the fact that without him, they'd have nothing ;)

@model S - I didn't see where you said Robert, but congrats anyways :D

@ranger_brian_new - She does that.. :P Distracts people from what they probably should be paying attention to :D
Hagelander (Guest) edit delete reply
@ant: I'm going to have to correct you on the matter of Lord Vettinari, he is not a tyrant, he is the leader who got voted for in a 1man-1vote system (for he is the man, and he has the vote)
;)

@Awshum - Robert is the way he is because he can be :P
Jrade edit delete reply
Jrade
@Magravan - I have a question, related to my earlier profit-related inquiries...

Are those advertisements on the side yours, or Comicfury's? Do you get any money from those?
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
oh i never said it in the comments. i said it to myself at some point. but yes my theory on robert and tom is my only other theory for the moment
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Jrade - Those are ours. Comicfury does not require any advertisement (nor do they even allow it at this point! I've offered to run some ad space for him..) But basically the entire profit that I've earned off of every moment that those ads have been up has gone back into advertising, with a couple more bucks on top of that just to keep a campaign going a little longer.. That's one of the things I'd like to achieve eventually.. Where I'm spending less than the ad spaces are generating, but still managing to get a reasonable amount of readers...

@model S - Oh okay, that makes sense :)

Jrade edit delete reply
Jrade
@Magravan - Yeah, I had figured that might be the way things were, given that I actually found TOGM through an advertisement...

At least you can rest assured that your money is causing an increase in readers.

Also, I'd like to point out that the TOGM ad is actually the only ad I've ever clicked, so good job on the design of it.
Jamming (Guest) edit delete reply
I wonder if armor suits are proof against your average Type One Zombie Horde?
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Jrade - That would be June's work, and thank you for having clicked it :D Which one did you click? Probably the Beth Nurse bookmark one :)

@Jamming - I would think so? I mean, they are basically just attacking with their own bodies, and armour was designed to stop melee weapons...
Jrade edit delete reply
Jrade
@Magravan - I clicked on the one with Beth holding John's head, captioned "She loves him for his brains..."

There's one with Beth as a nurse? I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing that it's aimed toward a...certain audience...right?

@Jamming - Medieval armour would probably be really effective, but more modern armour tends to aim more for mobility, and avoids jamming up places like joints - or the neck, a preferred zombie attack site. Neckwise the only real exception is EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal[Bombsquad]) armour.

The downside to medieval armour is that if you were knocked over you couldn't get back up, and the zombies could take their sweet time devouring your sweet brains.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Jrade - Wow, I didn't even remember using that one... Cool :) Oh, was it on TopWebcomics? We posted it there, I think...

And yeah, the armour would protect you, but that doesn't mean that you can't starve to death while they try to find a way in...
