Hey! Hope you guys enjoyed the strip. Sorry if you didn't... It seemed like a good idea when I was writing it, but I'm kind of frustrated with it now... But we're sort of locked in until at least 100 for how the story progresses...

So Beth is going to go see R.Z., which I am looking forward to! That's going to be a fun few strips, I think. I miss some of the characters when they haven't been on screen for a while, and R.Z. is definitely one of them.

In other news, we're Canadian, which means that we enjoyed our Thanksgiving yesterday! We invited a bunch of family members over, and June cooked a wonderful turkey / ham, with all of the extras. It was well received, and people seemed like they had fun.. We also played Rock Band 2 for a while, which is always fun.

So it was delicious, and we're going to have ham and turkey sandwiches, and soups and such for a while, so that's pretty great too :) Spending the day with our family was great too! Kids grow really, really fast these days!!

Hope you all have a great week, and enjoy the stat holiday if you're Canadian :D

As a note to James, I did offer for you to change it before I drew it ;) ;) ;)

I know what you mean, locked in, though :P

Looks like John needs some warm apple pie tonight LOL Happy Thanksgiving!!

Yay for Canada! I'm stuck in Seattle on a trip, so I guess I'll be getting a late Thanksgiving this year...oh, well.

Also, I'm thinking of starting a club for people who feel left out...interested?

Everything in art seems to be coming from Canada now. Weird. Anyway, I remain stalwart that SOMEONE would notice their intelligence rising-and R.Z. being a 3 would still have difficulty keeping his mouth shut. Yes you hear me right. I used stalwart! But anyway, I'm happy for R.Z. but I never let luck make me happy. Murphy lives under my bed and is constantly following me-me and anyone who doesn't have happy blond dunce as an impenetrable field around them or some other such natural barrier to bad luck - see fools, little children, and ships named Enterprise.

Slow motion makes everything better~
Ant (Guest) edit delete reply
Given the state of the brains he more than likely will be a 2.5 and probably wont be any less wierd than he already is :P
Must agree, seems most of my fave web comics seem to be coming from Canuck land, didnt know our colonists had thanksgiving as well, learn something new everyday :)
After John (Thomas) finishes with slow motion, he can move onto the print outs. Zombporn....can't beat it lol

the Ustream was really fun. sorry i had to run before you finished my sketch. my brother and his friends invited me to play video games with them and stuff. it was a good weekend.

the comic: good work june's art is improving alot. the scene itself seems a little "this had to be done to advance the story" but adding in the rewatching of beth still keeps with the humor. that should become a running gag.

@MarshmallowGherkin - Left out, not in need of patronization :P

@Lessum - Haha! Thanks, thank you guys for coming!

@Jrade - Better late than never :) A club for people who feel left out? That's actually genius, because then you pretty much catch everyone at some point or another and make them feel included :)

@3.1 - It must be getting close to winter, and we're trying to get everything done before the inks freeze ;) I would have used adamant myself ;)

@Ice the frosty cat - Pause is good too ;D

@Ant - He's actually probably more than a 2.5 before eating those brains :) We celebrate Thanksgiving early.. I like bugging my American friends saying that the Natives just liked us more and offered to help out sooner, but I'm actually not sure what the disparity comes from... I guess I know what I'll be doing after I finish these comments!

@model S - That's okay, I think June needed to back burner it anyways to make sure that Thanksgiving and the comic went off without a hitch :) It is sort of a running gag right now, but I think that's the part that irritated me about it... Looking back on it, I think that I went for the cheap gag rather than coming up with something new, and a running gag is funnier when there's more space between one and the next...

Oh, and Hedgehogboy5 was able to get the T-shirt, so I'm glad we got you to pick the sketch :)

After intense research involving glancing at Yahoo Answers / Wikipedia, it turns out that our Thanksgiving was moved to October to avoid clashing with Rememberance Day in 1957. It began with Martin Frobisher celebrating not dying in the frigid death fields and / or seas of the Northwest Territories, and then basically just added in details from all the various cultures who came over and wanted to celebrate not starving to death from a bad harvest. We stole the Turkey idea from the Americans loyalists, apparently.

So I guess we can be thankful that enough people stayed loyal to the British Empire to ensure that we get Turkey as well!

Wikipedia entry for Thanksgiving in Canada

I mean, it is Wikipedia, so technically I could change it so that it says "The Natives liked the Canadians better, so they helped them out sooner.", but I don't want to be that guy.
PixieSingsBass (Guest) edit delete reply
You could say that the native liked Canadians better but, to be accurate you'd have to acknowledge that it was actually the French Canadians, not the English, that the natives helped first and well, that wouldn't include us either. Vous etres Anglais, non? Les natives parlent Francais le premier, je pense.

Glad to hear you had such a great Thanksgiving. We did over here, too.
the_brigand (Guest) edit delete reply
A little disappointed in John, maybe?
He's got the genuine article who's more then willing to bed him and he's sitting there at a screen with a cleanex? Dunce!

Easy to say though. I guess it's much easier to reconcile pretending to be doing it with a hot chick that's on the screen then actually having actual sex with a corpse...
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@PixieSingsBass - Look at the last name ;) I may speak English, but at least half my DNA was soaked in French at some point ;) I'm glad you guys had a good Thanksgiving!

@the_brigand - I'll admit that he would have a lot more fun with Beth, but the monitor wont cause STZ :)
Ant (Guest) edit delete reply
@ The_brigand. of two minds on this (no pun intended). The Kleanex IS the safer option as it is less likely to fancy a post sex snack of brains while he puffs on the obligitory ciggie.

Think John might want to get his priorities straight though, he STILL is going to have a whopping great big hole above him even if he closes the hatch. Despite the keen need to repeat watch a shexy Zombchick, i think not leaving a metaphorically large sign saying "Brains, all you can eat buffet get it here" pointing at the hole in the ground would be better, especially seeing as it appears to be only just off the side of the road.. Safety first, clean up aisle 3 second.

Turkey twice a year though and so close to Chrimbo, most here get fed up with it come boxing day lol

This begs the question... in the aftermath of the zombiepocalypse could John sell the video of Beth stripping to a porn site?

Important questions demand important answers.
the_brigand (Guest) edit delete reply
I am entertained by the idea that many readers here are more then willing to overlook the DEAD aspect of Beth and Sylene... as long as they're hot.
As innocently as John acts I get the feeling this is something on the forefront of his mind and he'd rather keep the relationship platonic.

@bbedlam: rofl!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Ant - He's actually serious about needing the sleep... He's pretty exhausted ;) You can't see that he's got something to eat behind his monitor too...

I think that June would eat Turkey all the time if they sold it / we could afford it ;) She makes a reaaally good turkey, very moist ;) The trick, or so I'm told, is to cook it upside down :)

@bbedlam - You know, that would probably have been the only industry to last til the end ;) I'm going to have to go with no though, outside of a small group, they just don't really use those feelings anymore :)

@the_brigand - I think that TOGM draws a weird line in the sand... I mean, they are living in the sense that they can thing and act, they are living in the sense that they 'feel' alive... Those who take care of themselves masquerade very well as being alive that it almost becomes a moot point that they have died before. I don't think of them as Dead though...

But that doesn't change the fact that they have some serious threat levels to them... The fact that they died at one point is nothing compared to the fact that they could turn him into a One, in my mind :)

Why is TOGM so popular? I'd like to know why many readers read TOGM/ how they discovered it. (so i can improve on my comic ratings too)

@ Magravan
Adamant might have worked if I was trying to be pushy which always seems to be implied-instead I'm trying to say that I cant be moved. The denotation of both is synonymous but the connotation is slightly off. HOLY CRAP! Maybe I can take that 4 test now!
More TOGM please! And slow motion! Gotta love that slow motion!
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@ArtistXXY - Hopefully you get a useful answer :)

@3.1 - Adamant to me just means unassailable... I've always though of it as a metal golem standing sentinel :)
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
@artist i found it through a friend on a chat program i use, he linked me to "collar6" which i liked, then collar6 had an ad for TOGM the art on the ad reminded me of QC which i really liked, so i decided to check it out. i liked the idea of TOGM (and beth) so i decided to comment on the newest, i actually got a real reply from the creator which made me like it more. hope that helps some.
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
@magravan: sorry for double posting but the other one went on longer than i thought and i didn't want to have to retype it (only 1000 chars if not logged in) i just wanted to say it's fine just whenever june finishes it let me know. i really wanted the shirt so people would ask about it, i could advertise even more, and thus get you more readers, which would make contests more fun.

No problem, we'll let you know :) She specifically requested to add a sketch as a prize, but I know that she got very frustrated by the constant crashing of the stream :/

The only downside to a "Social Outcasts' Club" Would be that as soon as you joined, you'd have to leave as you no longer fulfilled the membership requirements...
Ant (Guest) edit delete reply
Not sure how I got here originally, think it was an Ad from Raven's Dojo a few months back, soon as I started reading I read the entire Archive in one hit, it was rather addictive.

As for Dead......well it still is a rather difficult question (and nothing wrong with hot zombs lol) it could beg the question that they are actually now a new species of human (Homo Sapien Zombicus?) as cognitive thinking is back as soon as they hit level 2.

Yeah i can imagine he was hungry, prob watching while eating some popcorn. Least he wont have to live on tinned peas now :)

Would love a back story (even in text form) of how the zompocalypse started etc unless its up and coming as part of the story line....Gah twice a week isnt enough to fill my cravings!!! :D
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
@Jrade - So if you charge membership dues, you've got the perfect racket! "Don't fit in? Join us!" ... "Now that you've paid your fee, you fit in. Get out, you're not welcome here!"

@Ant - Funny you should say that.. I consider the zombie label something of a misnomer... It was mainly chosen because they eat brains.. But as you said, they regain cognitive thinking, which is rather un-zombie-like...

So yeah, possibly a new species, but they've been calling themselves zombies for a while now, so it's not likely to change :)

There will be parts of the zompocalypse shown in the video / journal things from Ol' Corpsey... The actual explanation of the cause will likely be shown, but not likely to be any time soon :)

I just need to point out that when I first read the strip, I read the little *click, click* soundbytes as...something else...internet slang meme three letters long starting with "f" if you catch my drift...so it would seem that my particular direction was chosen by the leanings of my subconscious...

Also, look! I got an account!
Haelander (Guest) edit delete reply
he's a smart lad, he knows that computers should be used to look at pron and not to find out why the former user of R.Z.'s next meal decided to spread the meal out on the wall instead of keeping it fresh within his skull

@Jrade - Hahaha... Wow... Mind's playing tricks on you ;) And congrats on the account :D

TOGM: Far less risque than your subconscious seems to think it is :P

@Haelander - If he was more interested in determining that, he'd probably have just read the last pages in the journal instead of some random one ;)

Firstly, is there any way to get a weekend-long citizenship in Canada to proudly celebrate our/your turkey-loving heritage? And if so, would I be the one first to introduce the thirty minute, fast-boil in peanut-oil turkey dinner? I want to be a trailblazer.

Secondly, I would like to postulate the possibility of Jon's survival because he is actually an amnesiac Highlander. No need to confirm that, if it would be too big of a spoiler, but I'm rooting for Jon, wielding a sword and absorbing the Almighty-Five's powers. With lightning.

Tell me the 'gaining power through killing of someone else through head-injury'-thing doesn't almost fit? Most zombie stories just have brains as the main dish because... well, because. Here, though, it makes you more powerful.
Magravan edit delete reply
Magravan
I'm sure that we could arrange a temporary stop over if you bring Turkey related awesomeness :D

Thank you for not making me confirm the Highlander theory. I dislike giving away all of the secrets so early on... But I wouldn't be surprised if there's a kilt in the future... Just sayin'

I do agree that Canadians seem to just do a lot of the things I have interest in...better. One of my best friends online (for writing) is Canadian (I believe she's in Onterio? Don't quite remember), and in Square Dancing (What? It *is* the state dance of Washington!), they tend to at least equal clubs from around here. I rather enjoy visiting British Columbia. (Though I tend to do it only every other year.)
