Welcome! Welcome!

Hope you guys enjoyed today's comic... I was satisfied with how Beth's scenes went, so we're going back to John for a bit ... We'll see how this goes :)

I don't know if I mentioned it yet, but we were looking at making some bookmarks for when we go to FanExpo... Not sure if we're allowed to give out things there, but if we don't, then we'll have a bunch of bookmarks... I'm sure I can find a use for them.. Namely reading a hundred different books in stages :)

I might hold some back to give out to readers, if people would be interested... The good part would be that the shipping (in Canada anyways) would be like 65 cents...

Still looking for people on the forum. Come and ask questions or discuss things of importance to you.

And on that happy note, we're out! See you on Monday :)

Sorry, John's face did not want to be drawn properly tonight. I did my best with what I had though :)

I thought I did decently on the running pose though! It was really tough for me, and I spent a lot of time on it.

PS I hope John likes Corn Flakes!

Do you two ever get into battle over the story or the art? I find it amazing that you do it in perfect harmony.

Hi, I have been reading for a while and I love your comic. I just wanted to say in regard to your running pose, it looks pretty good. However, if you are having trouble with poses, try getting one of those wooden pose mannequins. They help a ton!
Skrael (I'm the artist)
@ Moiz I pretty much draw whatever I want :)
@ GreenGirl77 Thanks for taking the time to say that you enjoy the comic :) As for the mannequin, I'd love to get one one day. As well as one for hands as well! I'm saving for a Cintiq though, so I have to have my priorities straight :P I do have access to a virtual mannequin in a program called Poser. I just rarely, if ever, remember to use it. :)

Well, a dead body ain't gonna eat itself!

And by the way-your title joke was completely open to interpretation and if my mind HAS been perverted its only because of the internet through which you currently distribute.
For as the great Trekkus Monstrous said,"The internet is for porn!" And low it was and the world saw that it was good-even if most of the world didn't want to admit it.
So don't blame me. Blame your distribution center-and enjoy it!

@moizmad - Bwahahaha... Funny you should ask that....

I give her the dialogue and occasionally the actions (sometimes she insists that I write out specific actions actually... Either this one or the next one she was VERY insistent..) and then she draws whatever she wants... Very, very rarely I ask her to change it because she's completely missed the joke... Like the animated one by our son... She did something weird that I can't even remember, but it didn't make any sense anymore.. :)

Anyways, afterwards, I edit the text if necessary... As I've mentioned in some of my comments, sometimes I will put dialogue in that suggests violence from Beth and then she'll stick a bone saw into her hand... so it doesn't make sense that Beth would be hinting at violence while she's waving around an instrument of death ;)

Ultimately though, it's a bit of give and take on both our sides, and I think that the comic is better for the inclusion of both of our creativity... I actually resist putting down every little detail, because there are a number of times when June's art has given the comic a whole new dimension than I had intended or would have included, and I love it.. It's been good for us as a marital tool as well... Something to discuss even when we don't have much to say...

(She raced to get her comment in when I laughed out loud at home... ;P)

@greengirl77 - Thanks for posting! Do you know how much those pose mannequins generally go for?

@3.1 - lol! I love that video! I'm not sure if it was done as any thing other than a WoW video, but I laughed my butt off at it...

Speaking of MMO videos, has anyone heard of The Guild? June's been watching them a lot lately, and I watched over her shoulder a couple of times... apparently the lady who plays Codex is going to be at FanExpo, so maybe we'll get to say hello to her :)

Actually, that running pose is really good. You'd have thought though that the guy that was in there before he killed himself would have left some kind of note.

Hey Ive been reading this since I was told about it and I really find the plot line interesting. Good job with the stiff but, is it me or are his eyes glowing? 0.o
fahrquad (Guest) edit delete reply
They look cloudy and lifeless to me.

@Onecanofsprite - Perhaps he might have... Perhaps that's a major part of this whole arc... ;)

@Kayez - Thanks for letting us know you're out there :) I think that his eyes are glossed over, but the light is shining on them from the light that John turned on...

@fahrquad - Maybe that's what he wants John to think...

So I love your comic!

But mostly I'm commenting because you don't know what The Internet is for Porn is from! The WoW video on YouTube is funny, but not nearly as hilarious as the original source! As a theatre nerd, I must inform you that it's from a fairly recent Broadway musical, Avenue Q, that parodies children's TV, like Sesame Street. So you can imagine, it's pretty awesome to see brightly-colored, fuzzy puppets singing about the joys of online pornography. It's basically the best thing ever. :)

The name seems vaguely familiar, but I've never looked into it... If that's only one of their songs, it must be one hell of a show ;)

I really hope Chad doesn't find his way down there. I could use a Chad break for a while. Unless Chad comes down and gets decapitated... because I could go for that.

Chad's going to be dealing with issues off screen for a while ;)

The 12" mannequins that go on the desk range from $15-$20. I looked up an online store that carries them,
http://www.cheapjoes.com/search/?keywords=pose
$17.39 they have one in male and one in female. I remember having one but it was lost in a recent move, I may get one myself lol.
greengirl77 (Guest) edit delete reply
even cheaper $12.49

Well, we're back... Did anyone make use of the dA mirror?

Turns out a server error took out the webcomic tables... Kyo got it up and running again when he got up, but I apologize for the downtime. I'm going to put up the comics that we have here on the Greymeat site, and then update them as I change them... I doubt that it will happen again any time soon, but the more mirrors, the less we have to worry about readers not being able to access it..

Corn flakes are, I must say, an improvement on canned peas.

Also, I think Jon's (Thomas's? Whatever, yeah?) expression in panel three is not too badly done. It fits cartooning's archtypical exposition-as-you-run!!! classic.

@Lunaris: *thinks* .... *thinks some more*... I... i can't think of anything. I have spent too much time browsing the internet! I don't remember it all any more! D:

@Magravan: Thank you! Thank you for that mental image! It has made my day! :D
(Wallpaper?)

@Solem: I vote we either call him Jomas or Thon.

Is that Chad on the Monitor in the 2nd panel?
